Art and Design Exhibition 2012

The annual Art and Design Exhibition returned bigger than ever - but was its usual great success!

The night itself was busy with not only Upper 6 students and parents, but also Lower 6 students seeing what they’ll be expected to do next year, and even prospective students from Year 11, who were keen to ask questions and find out about the work on show.

A wide variety of visitors attended on the night

There were also visitors from other schools such as Alderley Edge School for Girls, and Our Lady’s School in Oldham. Aquinas Governor Tom McGee dropped in as did many colleagues; Those unable to attend the evening were able to visit during the day on Thursday and Friday.

The exhibition was the biggest yet with every U6 student having at least one piece of work on show

With only a day to set up, there was a hive of frantic activity in the Art and Design Department, as usual working right to the 11th hour! The group of Upper 6th students who had volunteered and took ownership in organising and setting up the exhibition were a credit to the college and stayed calm and focused throughout the day!

Last minute preparations for the show

Every Art and Design student in the Upper 6 had at least one piece of work into the show and this year we were able to showcase even more, with the students involved in the organising having room to set up whole displays of exemplar work.

All those involved deserve a massive thank you, as all those who visited on the night and the next few days were impressed with all the work; we have very talented students!
