Gok-it Winners; Walton-le-Dale
On Tuesday, students from Walton-le-Dale entered a catwalk fashion competition.
During the last few weeks a group of KS3 students have been working with Miss Cairns, styling and reworking a bag of clothes given by Sainsburys. The brief was to take 1 dress, 1 jacket, 1 scarf, 2 pairs of leggings and a vest top to produce a collection of 4 outfits which fit the theme “Best of Bristish". The only rule; one of the garments had to be present in each of the 4 outfits. Each outfit was taken down the catwalk at the concluding fashion show at Sainsburys, Bamber Bridge.
Two of our gorgeous Year 11s volunteered for the catwalk event on 13 November, in front of parents, school representatives, friends and judges.
A number of schools from the local area took part in the competition but it was Walton-le-Dale who took the honours. The judges (UCLan Fashion Society Chair; Claire Wilkinson and Vice-chair; Samiie Smith) spent a long time extolling the virtues of the winning school and then announced that we had won.
The award was to presented to both the models and the designers. We were presented with a trophy and a number of other rewards.
